I have decided to start a blog about my day to day (or week to week) interactions with the one and only Punkin'. So lets start with some background information...Punkin' is 7 years old (well she, being a Princess Punkin' will tell you she is 7 and a HALF). She was diagnosed PDD/NOS at approxmately 3 yrs of age. Being on the Autism spectrum has provided me with laughs, frustrations and more love than I thought possible. Punkin' came into my life as my good friends daughter when she was about 3 years old. Since then, she has grown, flourished and had troubles. I have entered a wonderful loving relationship with her father; my Boo Boo. She has also become my step-daughter, big sister to our 1 year old Sweet Pea, and comedian. Punkin' has moved in with us full time and we have had "the talk". This is not "the talk" you remember from you parents; this talk was to tell her she was Autistic. Her reaction was amazingly adult.
I hope you enjoy the "isms" as much as I do. (An "ism" to us is the funny things only Punkin' can come up with)
